“I’m in my mid-60s, and I started taking Cindy’s hatha yoga class about three years ago. Regular yoga truly helps me to clear my head. “I am a firm believer that I would not be practicing yoga today if Cynthia Gray had not been my first, and most beloved, instructor. While I had been generally interested in yoga prior to joining Cindy’s class, I felt a certain degree of intimidation by the mere mention of the word. Like a lot of people, I thought maybe I was not strong enough, flexible enough, slender enough or spiritual enough for yoga. However, I took a chance and called Cindy.
After one single class I discovered my appreciation for yoga and have been Cindy’s student for almost a year. Since I knew Cindy would be taking her teachings and wisdom to Arizona, I tested a few other instructors in hopes of finding another instructor that can inspire me. My search so far has not yielded favorable results and has made me realize that a great portion of my appreciation for yoga is intrinsically tied to Cindy the instructor and Cindy the person.
My encounters with other yoga instructors have been quite varied, some were too caught up on technical details about the poses, some lacked enthusiasm, and some were just pretentious. Cindy’s yoga classes are relaxing and fun yet challenging and her enthusiasm for teaching and wisdom are without comparison.
I am disappointed Cindy is abandoning me for Arizona, but I could not be happier about her decision to follow her destiny. Cindy is one of those rare individuals who know what they want in life and will actually attain the goals she sets for herself.
